Here it is. It’s finally here. The NBA All-Star Weekend 2013 kicks off Friday night at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. The big event should be the highlight of attention in the sports world throughout the weekend leading up to the big game on Sunday. The Sprite All-Star Slam Dunk Contest usually brings the most excitement for basketball fans there live in attendance or watching from home. This contest hardly ever falls short of spectators.
Of course die-hard hoop fans still feel that Miami Heat’s LeBron James should have made an appearance at least once in this Slam Dunk Contest, but like always he’s MIA (missing in action). Some pundits feel James is afraid of losing. It would be too much risk and a fear of image degradation. Reputation has always been a touchy subject for him.
There’s also many other contest’s included in this event such as: Rising Stars Challenge Games, Celebrity Game, the 3-point shootout and also competitions that includes fans in the audience. There will be awards for participating attendees followed by more festivities and a live concert. On Sunday comes the main event which is: The East vs. West All-Star Game. This weekend should bring all the goods for hoop fans and be everything—but boring.
EA SPORTS - NBA 2K13 is still soaring high and was named the “Best Sports Video Game of the Year 2012.” This weekend event should elevate ‘NBA 2K13’ and its new installment All-Star Weekend DLC to new heights and give them the momentum heading into second quarter sales.
The NBA 2K13 All-Star Weekend DLC is available on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 for $4.99 (400 MSP). It packages together four events: a three point shootout, slam dunk contest, Rising Stars Challenge Game, and East vs. West All-Star Game. The three point shootout and slam dunk contest pits classic stars against modern-day stars, and the Rising Stars and All-Star game features 2012 All-Stars as well.
