Sprint to soon offer pay-as-you-go service

Sprint has confirmed that they will begin offering a pre-paid or pay-as-you-go service that they are calling Sprint As You Go. Launching of this service will begin on January 25th of this year.

Pay-as-you-go cell phone plans are designed for those individuals who are looking to not be tied to a contract and wish to keep monthly costs to a minimum.

Sprint's new service will offer a $70 monthly plan for smartphones and a $50-a-month plan for feature phones. Although these plans will include great features such as uncapped and unthrottled data, they will not be offering premium features such as WiFi tethering.

Smartphones on the service will include the Samsung Victory, an LTE Android based phone for $250 and the LG Optimus Elite at $150. On the feature phone side, they will be offering several Samsung handsets that include the Array and the M4oo series handsets.

In order for customers to take advantage of the new Sprint As You Go service, they will have to go to a Sprint store near them as they will not be offering this service via their website.
