LA Gadgets Examiner Rating: B
On Saturday, Sprint's very first Windows Phone 8 smartphone started selling at Best Buy locations all around the country. It had been selling through Sprint for the past couple of weeks and is starting to garner a following. We found plenty to like about the HTC 8XT, but found that it lacked some important things as well.

Build and design
The HTC 8XT feels slick, easy to hold, and sturdy. The rounded edges and slightly curved back make the HTC 8XT even more of a pleasure to hold. This is definitely a phone that you can rapidly and easily put in your pocket.
Above the 8XT’s display is a 1.6MP front camera for self portraits and video chatting. At the bottom of the screen are the controls for Back, Start, and Search. There is a somewhat anorexic volume rocker and a dedicated camera button on the right side.
A power control and a headphone jack are on top. An 8MP camera with a LED flash is on the back, which is detachable so you can throw in a microSD card. The phone is so thin that you feel like you may be breaking it by taking off the back cover, but there is really nothing to worry about.
