Sprinkles Cupcakes has opened in New York City and it is far from your traditional bakery! According to a video report by Buzz60, Sprinkles Cupcakes is dispensing cupcakes via ATM. People in New York City lined up to order an ATM cupcake -- and the machine is open 24/7... you know, just in case you're craving a frosting-covered treat at 4:00 a.m.
According to the report, the machine (which has already made waves in Los Angeles) takes credit cards only but that seems to be just fine with the New York crowd. There are 760 cupcakes in a variety of different flavors and they are dispensed by the machine after you tap in your order.
Sprinkles Cupcakes are of decent size and, so far, people really seem to like them. Not too shabby for a machine-dispensed snack. It's unclear how frequently the slots are refreshed but judging by the line outside the ATM, these cupcakes are likely selling out daily. Do you think this is just a fad or will it last? Would you buy a cupcake from an ATM?
