Springsteen to induct E Street Band into Rock Hall of Fame

Rolling Stone is reporting that Bruce Springsteen will do the honors of inducting his E Street Band into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame at its April 10th ceremony.

The Hall of Fame released details of its induction ceremony yesterday, announcing who will induct each of this year's class of honorees, including who will perform.

This is the first year the public is allowed to attend the ceremony, which will be held next Thursday, April 10 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. The annual celebration is usually a private, invitation-only affair held at the Waldorf Astoria Ballroom in New York. The ceremony will be broadcast on HBO on May 31, 2014 at 9 p.m. EST.

In addition to giving the speech induction of his band, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band are scheduled to perform. Also performing will be Peter Gabriel, who will be inducted by Coldplay's Chris Martin; Hall and Oates, who will be inducted by Questlove of The Roots; and Stevie Nicks, Carrie Underwood, Emmylou Harris, Sheryl Crow and Bonnie Raitt, who will all sing in a unique tribute to Linda Ronstadt; who is to be inducted by Glenn Frey of the Eagles.

Speaking, but not currently scheduled to perform solo, will be Michael Stipe who will induct Nirvana; Tom Morello who will induct Kiss; and Peter Asher who will induct Brian Epstein and Andrew Loog Oldham. Often many of those participating in the ceremony join in performing a finale at the end of the evening.

It has not been announced who will induct Cat Stevens (Yusuf Islam), who will also be honored by the Hall of Fame. Read the Rolling Stone article here.
