Colorado Springs will host the 2013 BJJ Colorado State Super Cup, a statewide tournament that will determine the best in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
The first leg of the three-tournament series will be this Saturday at Coronado High School. The tournament is designed to promote BJJ in Colorado, says Carlos Santos, the BJJ black belt who created the tournament.
Participants will accumulate points in all three tournaments, and the champions and top teams will be determined at the end of the last tournament by total points. Santos says about 500 men, women and children are expected to participate in each tournament, expected to draw as many as 1,200 spectators.
See the Sunday Gazette for the story in the sports section.
The event starts @ 9:30am with children and teens. Adults fights will start @ 11am.
Super fight starts @ 1pm.
