Warm and humid weather continues tonight with showers and a few thunderstorms roaming the area. Temperatures only falling to the upper 60s to 70 degrees overnight.
September began right where August left off as we remain in the moist and humid air with the stalled warm front staying to our north. A light south to southwest wind continues to bring the very humid and warm air into our neighborhoods and this will stay with us into Tuesday. Along with that is the ongoing threat of showers and thunderstorms on Labor Day, Monday night and into at least a portion of Tuesday. Some locally heavy downpours are possible Labor Day and Monday night, ahead of an approaching cold front.
Relief comes to us in two words, cold front, which is not likely to pass through here until Tuesday morning or by midday. You should finally be able to shut off the air conditioners and fans Tuesday night as temperatures cool down under fair skies.
With the front to our east a nice refreshing air mass overspreads the Pioneer Valley mid to late week as high pressure takes control. Cool temperatures and much less humid air will bring a feel of Fall once again. A secondary cold front will draw down even cooler air toward the end of the work week.
