Tuesday’s cold front passage has rid us of the humidity and showers that were around all last weekend and brought us a refreshing air mass with comfortable temperatures and low humidity. It was a beautiful Wednesday with plenty of sunshine as temperatures recovered from morning lows in the 50s and low 60s to afternoon highs around 80 degrees.
Another cold front moves across the area early on Thursday. It will be accompanied by some cloudiness in the morning with a remote chance of a brief shower or sprinkle, otherwise it will be a partly cloudy and cooler day. Temperatures will not climb much during the day, struggling to reach the low 70s for most of us, followed by a very chilly night as temperatures collapse into the 40s, with a few mid and upper 30s possible in the rural areas. These kind of readings will flirt with near record lows for the date.
When you wake Friday morning Autumn will be in the air with a very cool and crisp start to the day. Even with plenty of sunshine temperatures are going to run below normal with highs only in the upper 60s.
With high pressure expanding out of the Great Lakes Friday it will be with us into the start of the weekend, before yet another shot of cool air arrives late in the weekend via another cold front passage. After last weekends disappointing weather it appears this weekend will be much nicer, although some clouds and another chance of a shower may accompany the frontal passage Sunday. Temperatures will also moderate some over the weekend.
