Ready to create a beautiful garden? Come to the Tulsa Garden Center this Friday and Saturday between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. Everything you need, and some things you didn't know you needed, can be found at this year's SpringFest Garden Market and Festival.
You'll find a large variety of plants, arts and crafts, garden art and a special area for the children. Of course, no festival would be complete without food and drinks.
Local plant nurseries will be offering the tried-and-true plants and the latest varieties for 2014. You can also purchase plants grown at the Linnaeus Teaching Garden and from local gardeners. Nurserymen and home gardeners will be available to answer questions about plants and planting techniques.
The children's section offers fun and education, including balloons, face painting, pictures with the Easter Bunny, the Adopt-A-Pet Van from the SPCA, the Reading Van from the Tulsa Library system, planting take-home plants and more.
Members of the different Tulsa Garden Center societies will be on hand to outline their organizations. These will include Green Country Water Garden Society, Linnaeus Gardeners, M&B Gardens, Northeastern Oklahoma Beekeepers Association, Tulsa Area Daylily Society, Tulsa Garden Club, Tulsa Herb Society, Tulsa Master Gardeners and Up with Trees.
There will be many vendors offering a wide variety of items for inside and outside your home. You will also have the opportunity to attend a bird house auction inside the mansion.
The festival is this Friday and Saturday, April 11th and April 12th, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Tulsa Garden Center is located at 2435 S. Peoria Avenue. For more information, call 918-746-5125 or visit the center's website.
