A fantastic day trip you should consider marking on your calendar four times a year would be to visit the State Botanical Gardens of Georgia. Visiting each season becomes a completely different experience. The view is different, the smells are different, and the most important thing is how the beauty of the garden changes.
With spring approaching Georgia now is the perfect time to visit the Botanical Gardens. You will see beautiful different colored daffodils lining the botanical creek and the walkways. Daffodils are one of those flowers that make people smile. Perhaps it is the beautiful yellow color, or perhaps it is a sign that the cold winter months are behind us. You will see corona daffodils, white daffodils, two tone daffodils, fancy daffodils and of course many different shapes and sizes of the yellow daffodils.
Along with the daffodils you will see a wide range of different color azaleas. This is the perfect time to go to the gardens and do a lot of photography, especially if you like photographing bright vibrant colored azaleas. As you are walking along the path, there will be light pink and dark pink azaleas and white azaleas along with sunset red colored azalea. Do not be surprised if while photography these flowers, you do not see and hear the bees. They camouflage really good in the azalea clusters.
The camellia flowers are truly among some of the most beautiful flowers. These flowers also come in a wide range of different colors. The baby pink camellias are so delicate and beautiful, while the bright red camellias called 'Blood of China' stand out so strong with vibrant color. The Japanese camellia flowers will leave you with a sense of natures true beauty.
As you continue to walk through the gardens, you will walk down paths that are lined with cherry blossom trees, you will see a fountain decorated with tulips and other springtime flowers. There are several different flowering trees such as the apple blossom tree, tulip flowering tree, pearl bush flowering trees and so many others.
The weather is perfect in the spring for a picnic on the lawn that will be lined with daffodils. Or you may want to walk around in the conservatory and enjoy a nice refreshment at the café. Afterwards take a walk through the tropical section and see some of the most beautiful tropical flowers, trees and plants.
Walking through the botanical gardens during the spring is one of the most beautiful times to be there. When you are leaving this day trip, you will leave with a sense of excitement and inspiration to get your own yard started. The beauty you will see at the State Botanical Garden of Georgia is indeed something you will not soon forget.
