There are a lot of beers at Spring Street, some on tap, most in a bottle, they are cheap and you have heard of every one of them before – probably tried every one of them before.
They have burgers, sandwiches, salads, soups, buffalo wings, a chicken quesadilla, daily lunch specials and more, and none if it will run you over $10.
In other words, Spring Street is about as basic a place to grab a pint and a bite to eat as there is in Louisville – and there’s nothing wrong with that. Some bars, when they’ve been around awhile and receive a sort of cult status, become almost ironically hip and are frequented by townies and hipsters alike - The Back Door comes to mind. This can sometime lead to an air of pretention – NachBar comes to mind.
Spring Street Bar & Grill is not that kind of place. Completely void of pretense, though not of townies, Spring Street has been around since 1987 because the booze is cheap, the food is good, and the staff is friendly.
