Spring semester brings worries for young couples

Couples struggle with the transition back to school

Back to school! Back to school! It’s about that time when students are wrapping up their winter break and heading back to campus to begin the start of their spring semester. This is both an exciting time and stressful time for young couples.

Say the couple has been distanced over the long winter break, then they are both overjoyed for the new semester to begin.

But how about those who have not been apart? Now they must get ready to face the challenge of getting back into the routine of school. They probably spent all of December and January having date nights and pretending as if they didn’t have a care in the world. But now it’s time to get back to business.

It may be a hard transition for couples who now have to get use to doing homework instead of spending every waking minute together. The challenge will most likely be the hardest for those facing their last semester; and a bad case of senioritis.

Couples going through this hardship need not worry. While, they may not be able to spend as much time together as they did over break, their relationship will still remain strong. These couples just need to take a look at their priorities, and make plans from there.

If someone has a big test the next day, no, this is not a good time to go out. Maybe plan a study date instead. This is all about compromise and doing what is best for the other person. Couples need to encourage each other to do their school work, not try to hinder them. And for those graduating in May, they are in the home stretch. Don’t give up now!
