Spring schedule for step-parenting workshops

holding the family together
holding the family together

As we announced in the fall, FamilyKind, the nonprofit organization that offers education and support services to adults and children experiencing separation or divorce, has added step-parenting workshops to their menu of services.

Now that this long, grueling winter is finally over - or at least showing signs of being over – you should take advantage of the energy and optimism that sunshine brings and sign up for a workshop today.

These 2 ½- 3 hour workshops will give you an overview of the common challenges experienced within the stepfamily and provide you with some exercises you and your spouse or partner can do to find solutions and start conquering those challenges.

While there are opportunities for step-parents to meet with one another and share their stories, this workshop is meant for both the step-parent and their spouse or partner. It is critical that both parents and step-parents understand the many differences between a stepfamily and a biological family, how these differences can impact their children as well as their relationship with each other, and how they can take an active part in ensuring the family is operating in the most functional way possible.

Upcoming workshops are:

  • Sunday, April 6th – 10:00am-1:00pm
  • Wednesday, April 23rd – 6:00pm-8:30pm
  • Wednesday, May 28th – 6:00pm-8:30pm

Sign up for the one that is most convenient for you.

The cost is just $70 per couple.

Workshops are conveniently located near public transportation on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. Contact FamilyKind at 646-580-4735 or to register and to confirm your workshop location.
