Spring outings in Philadelphia

You don’t need a calendar to know spring has come to Philly. All you have to do is go out on the weekend and see the hustle and bustle on the street.

It seems every week there is a new festival or activity going on in local neighborhoods. These festivals are a great way to get people into the city. The diversity of the events and locations makes it easy for anyone to find something to enjoy.

This weekend you can visit the Philadelphia Science Festival April 25- May 3rd. It offers exploratory exhibitions, lectures and hand on activities. You can visit there on The Ben Franklin Parkway.

If you are looking for a family friendly event offering food and music, check out the South Street Spring Festival this Saturday May 3rd. This is a free event.

Rittenhouse Row Spring Festival
May 3 The Rittenhouse Row Spring Festival is now in its 18th year and runs from noon to 6 p.m.

Saturday, May 3, this event is run by Graduate Hospital from 1-7 pm at the Grays Ferry Triangle 23rd and South Street. You will find food, games and beer for all to enjoy.

It’s not just neighborhood hosting the events. On May 3rd you can check out Radio 104.5 Summer Block Party. They are holding it at The Piazza at the Schmidt’s. It offers free live music. You can visit the Piazza’s bars and restaurants for refreshments.
