Spring means vintage and antique markets, here and around the world

Vintage, antique and artisan markets
Laurie M. Jackson

If it's spring, it's time for vintage and antique markets. Some, like the 2014 Button Show and Sale, are a one time event with educational opportunities, while others, like A Paris Street Market, bring together artisans, local farmers and antique dealers once a month for fabulous shopping. Here's a list of not-to-be-missed favorites:

April 5-6, 2014 -- the Colorado State Button Society's 2014 Button Show and Sale, where thousands of antique, artisan and new buttons will be available for sale. New this year: Ask the Expert Button Road Show table on Saturday 1 to 5 p.m. and Sunday 12 to 3 p.m.; bring in your grandmother's best buttons for experts to evaluate. The show and sale takes place DoubleTree by Hilton Denver Stapleton-North, 4040 Quebec Street (at I-70) in Denver. Visit their website for more information.

The first Saturday of every month May - October -- A Paris Street Market at Aspen Grove Shopping Center, Littleton, 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. More information on their website.

May 14, July 12, October 4, 2014 -- Horseshoe Market -- Art, antiques and design in the parking lot behind Olinger Moore Chapel at 4345 W. 46th Ave, Denver, 9 a.m - 4 p.m. More information on their website.

June 13-14, 2014 -- The Old Glory Antiques Fair -- Art and antiques in beautiful Clement Park, Littleton, not to be missed. More information on their website.
