Spring in January

It may be the middle of January, but here in the Bluegrass Region, someone needs to tell the flowers. There are crocus popping up all over everywhere. I have never had crocus bloom this early. I hope it is not the sign of things to come because I’m still afraid we will end up with a big freeze and everything will die.

There is more worry when it comes to the fruit tree. If apple and pear trees start to bloom now, then have the buds killed, there may not be a fruit crop this year. Just something to think about while you’re looking at the winter color coming to life.
