Spring is in the air for 5K's

Spring is in the air for sure! Here are two months worth of 5K runs for April and May to get on your calendar… you might want to do some Spring cleaning and get your outdoor running gear ready if you have been on the treadmill inside all winter.

Sunday, April 11 is the Big D Texas Marathon Half / 5k / Relays at the Cotton Bowl Fair Park

Saturday April 17 is Jog with the Frog 5K / 1M Fair Park,  Seton Soles 5K / 1M St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church 2700 W. Spring Creek in Plano, Radiant Sprint for Cancer 5k Las Colinas Blvd. & El Lago Irving

Saturday, April 24, Run the Highlands 5K / 1M Lake Highlands H.S.

Saturday, May 1st Central Market in Plano is having it’s “Thrill of the Grill 5k”. They will be having a great day of food, beverage, music, art and more… all beginning with a 5K fun run designed for a levels of walkers, joggers, and runners. It is a celebration designed to kick off the frilling season benefiting the Plano ISD Education Foundation.

On Saturday, May 8th, will be Arlington Highlands 5K Run 2K10 and Springfest. This run will benefit the Single Parent Foundation. There will be a petting zoo, bounce house, obstacle course, face painting, balloon artist and rock-climbing wall.

Finally, on Saturday, May 22, when you register for the Red Nose Run at Woodall Rogers Plaza 5K, you can get a circus ticket to Zing Zang Zoom, the all-new live entertainment extravaganza from Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey and other fun goodies. I guess you can wear your red nose and run dressed as a clown! There will be a circus stroll along and celebration all benefiting the American Heart Association.
