On January 30thThe Atlanta Jewish Film Festival opens up at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center with “Hava Nagila” the movie. AJFF will present more than 70 films (Jan. 30-Feb. 20) at various locations around the metro area. Check www.ajff.org for times and dates of all the films involved in the festival.
Want to get in shape? Fleet Feet Hikes: Short Hikes for Mature Adults

Meet at Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park Kennesaw, GA. The hikes are led by mature adults who enjoy the outdoors and know the trails of Kennesaw Mountain well. Short Hikes are 2 miles long and are from (9 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.) Participants should meet at the flagpole near the Visitor Center; no registration is required. for all hikes, please arrive ten minutes prior to start time for hike information; hikes begin promptly at 9:00 a.m. Be sure to bring water, long pants, and good hiking boots are recommended. Explore the paintings, passion, and politics of the art world’s most fiery duo, Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera! Take a tour of this once-in-a-lifetime exhibition, then turn part of your body into art with a body-paint artist. Work with artists to make Frida and Diego-inspired swag, then watch choreographer Helen Hale interpret their iconic works through dance. Finally, practice your moves during salsa and tango lessons or just groove to the sounds of DJs Santiago Paramo and Ree de la Vega. $7 for students and free for members.
Have a short weekend getaway to Chattanooga, TN, only an hour and half outside of Atlanta you can enjoy the Aquarium, The IMAX, the spa’s, Rock City and Ruby Falls and the many eclectic shops, and restaurants in downtown Chattanooga. There are a ton of Hotels close enough to walk to the city center where the IMAX and Aquarium are located so take advantage of the ability to walk and get some exercise. The Duck Boat Tours area also really fun and take you on land and right into the Tennessee River for a great view of the city.
Atlanta is such a vibrant city full of art, culture and the ability to get away from it all at the drop of a hat. We have wineries, mountains, beaches so get out there and explore and do something different this weekend.
