Spring into 2012 in Color

One of the most noteworthy and exciting trends of the past few months is none other than colored denim. As seen on celebs like Kim Kardashian and Hillary Duff, colored jeans are steadily growing in popularity. This robust and refreshing trend will most likely continue to be spotted all over San Diego when Spring 2012 finally arrives. This style can be seen on high-profile celebrities as well as your every-day college student; and can easily be pulled off if a few steps are executed correctly! Popular colors for these jeans range from royal blue, coral, to yellow--pretty much any bright and bold color you can think of. The beauty of these jeans is that you can dress them up with pumps and a blazer for a night-out, or dress them down with sandals and a simple white V-neck t-shirt. The key is to find the right fit and color, and to not wear them with too many other colors (stick with 2 to 3 total colors in your complete outfit). For the most polished and chic look, go with skinnies instead of flared or boot-cut colored jeans. Also, make sure that you are actually purchasing the denim material verses jeggings or leggings, because that will result in a completely different (and less flattering) ensemble.

A great place to begin the hunt for the perfect pair of colored jeans is at Nordstrom: http://bit.ly/zYnMU3 as well as Nordstrom Rack (located in Mission Valley, at 1640 Camino Del Rio North San Diego, CA 92108).
