Spring Clean Your Mind

Growing up, my favorite movie was The Wizard of Oz. I watched it over and over again. It overflows with spiritual principles. If I had to select just one juicy bit of guidance that I love, it would have to be where Glinda tells Dorothy that “she has always had the power to go home (using) the magical power of her ruby slippers, but she had to discover it for herself”. All she had to do was click her heels together…. I am on a mission to assist people to discover the truth of that power for themselves.

It starts by recognizing that the same energy that we see flowing throughout nature, flows within our true nature. In spring, we observe that just as the flowers don’t think about budding into bloom, there is a part of us that also doesn’t hesitate to be proactive, creative, inspired and so full of life. We call that the Wood Element, one of the five elements of Feng Shui. And when we tap into that energy resource with us, we are ready to soar. We feel the energy surge through us and can't wait to express our creativity as the artists of our lives.

How do you know if you are taking full advantage of that power that you carry inside? Simple. If you feel stuck in any area of your life, that is an indication that your cluttered mind has you convinced that you are powerless. That there’s just no hope for you ever changing that aspect of your life. For example, say you want to create more abundance. You hear endlessly that the economy sucks and you just have to suffer endlessly because that’s just how it is. Not true! The daily spiritual practice of Feng Shui-ing Your Mind creates spaciousness in your mind. What happens when there’s spaciousness in your mind? That is the first step toward harnessing the latent power within you that’s just waiting for you to tap into it.

Spring energy is all about renewal. You can transform low energy states including depression, hopelessness, frustration, irritability and muddled thinking through tapping into your Wood Element. Here’s how you can begin. Where you see yourself procrastinating about getting something done, shift your perspective to how good you’re going to feel once you begin to take some action! Baby steps are all that’s necessary. Refocus from how hard, if not impossible it’s going to be, to the energy boost you’ll get from moving forward. Really, it’s not as hard as your cluttered mind has had you thinking it needs to be. You HAVE always had the power. Start tapping into it today!
