Head for Texas for Spring Break - Galveston voted #1 by readers of USA Today. Galveston appears to be at the top of the U.S. list because of the appeal to college students as well as families. Easy to reach, no passport required and miles of great beaches.
The #1 spot overall was Cancun - also a home to fabulous beaches. Plus, plenty of all-inclusive resorts that offer all you can eat and some, as I recall, offer all you can drink.
Here's the list of the top ten, which is your favorite?
Panama City Beach, Fla.
Wisconsin Dells, Wis.
Steamboat Springs, Colo.
Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
Miami Beach, Fla.
You probably noticed that 4 of the top 10 are in Florida, but only 3 have beaches. Orlando, of course, has Disney and all the other notable theme parks. Steamboat Springs has snow - maybe that's where the Florida students go for spring break. Wisconsin Dells? Ocean beaches - No, enormous waterparks - Yes.
If you've already missed your spring break this year - you can start planning for 2015. . . Keep on Traveling!
