If you’re looking for ways to stir up big fun for your kids on spring break, check out what the legendary Biltmore Hotel is offering for the very first time – they’re hosting a Spring Break Cooking Camp for children ages 9 and up on March 25-27, 2014.
Kids can explore a variety of cuisines as well as sharpen their culinary techniques that they can use for a lifetime, all within the comfortable confines of the renowned Biltmore Culinary Academy. They may even expand their picky palettes as they’ll get to eat their culinary masterpieces.
There will be three menus for the campers to create, all developed by seasoned instructor, Chef Jeannette Ozga. Each of the three menus will have an entrée, side dishes and dessert. To rev things up on day one, campers will create an Italian feast. Day two, campers savor Asian flavors. The final day of cooking is all about fun foods, made even more fun! Think about things like chicken tenders encrusted with Rice Krispies, tasty potato pancakes, and flaky beef empanadas. For dessert, a deliciously refreshing ambrosia with lots of marshmallows.
Camp hours will be 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and each camper will receive his or her own apron and recipes from their kitchen experiences. (And yes, they will even learn to wash dishes!) Prices are: one day for $95, two days for $165 or all three days for $250.
