Depending on where you live, the end of April means winter and frost is finally over. Flowers start to bloom and there is a good chance your grass will need cut. However, if you’re a craft beer fan in Pennsylvania you know that it’s time for beer fest season!
There are many craft beer festivals in the Pittsburgh and surrounding areas this year. While dates haven’t been formally announced here are 2 to get you started.
Big Tap In (Boardman, Ohio) – April 30

Kicking off is “The Big Tap In” in Boardman (Ohio) hosted by Vintage Estate Wine and Beer. Ohio may sound like a long drive but from downtown Pittsburgh it’s only 60 miles and if you live off the PA turnpike it’s even faster. Last year “The Big Tap In” sold out the day of the event thanks to word spreading across Twitter and Facebook from attendees sharing their good time. This year you can expect over 75 breweries, 25 tables of arts and food plus live entertainment.

Great European Beerfest – June 25 & 26

The Sharp Edge is synonymous with great craft beer in Pittsburgh and it should come as no surprise that they are providing you with a chance to drink greatness.
Sharp Edge describes the event as “The country’s only all European Beerfest of it’s kind for 14 years, we feature only European beers that are brewed in Europe. Last year we had 135 different beers of which 40 were Belgian. The event is held under a large tent sunshine or rain!
