Spring is a season of rebirth with brightly colored flowers and blossoming trees creating a vision of beauty and excitement for all to behold.
Spring 2013 beauty and fashion trends are substantially inspired by the colors of the season. Top trending lip colors are vibrant and vivid, comparable to the magenta hue of azaleas, vibrant red poppies and sunny orange petals of the Asiatic Lily.
Orange is a hue that compliments most skin tones and if the correct shade is chosen, can be used on eyes and cheeks as well as the lips. Makeup artist, and Global Artistic Director of Revlon, Gucci Westman suggests applying a matte shade of orange to apples of cheeks and lids with a dot of gold at the inner corner of the eyes. Westman recommends finishing the look with a brown eye liner to create an overall warm and sunny affect. Choose a cosmetic formula that is non-irritating for the eye area such as the orange shade in Mirabella's Mineral Blush Duo "Radiant" which is talc-free, paraben-free, gluten-free, D4 and D5 free and oil free and was used on both the eyes and cheeks at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week by makeup artist, Brian C. Hawkins.
One of the most versatile beauty trends is colored eyeliner in shades of red, yellow, green, blue and pink. Formulas are available in gels, liquids, pencils and a few options for marker type applicators from Stila, ELF, CK One, and Mirabella Beauty. Runway demonstrations ranged from thin lines of metallic blue-green on an otherwise natural face created by MUA, Pat McGrath to "floating" eyeliner in shades of green and blue designed by MUA and Artistic Director for Shiseido, Dick Page.
