Spring 2012 is arriving on store shelves and one of the hot handbag trends from the spring runways, which is making it into the streets, is the cross body handbag. The cross body bag started to become popular during the fall 2011 season and has increased its momentum for spring 2012. Designers such as Ralph Lauren and Michael Kors sent the cross body bag down their spring 2012 runways, showing the fashion world that the style is hot for the upcoming warm weather season.
The cross body strap is being shown on both trendy and classic handbag styles. The of-the-moment cross body handbag styles are messenger bags and mini bags which offer cross body straps and seasonal colors such as brights and pastels. Classic handbag styles such as the double handbag satchel are also being shown with detachable cross body straps; allowing the handbags to be both as an investment purchase as well as an on-trend handbag for spring 2012 season. Satchels are being shown in every style imaginable for spring 2012 such as solid colored brights, solid pastels, color blocking and traditional black, brown and white; making them the perfect investment for a classic yet fashion forward look.
The cross body bag is the most practical handbag trend for spring 2012 as the style allows for hands-free movement throughout the day and is easier to wear than a shoulder bag; many of which tend to slide off the shoulder.
