Spring 2011 fashion trends take us back to the 70’s

Congratulations for making it through the long haul of winter, and now say hello to the arrival of Spring 2011 fashion.

This moment is special.  As new, mouthwatering displays are assembled in windows of designers and department stores, the public can happily join the ranks of fashion week insiders.  The works of art that emerged on the runway six months ago will finally be available to buy! Eyes can open widely to the luscious and bold spring color stories, and skin can celebrate freedom!

Freedom is a repeated theme this season, as designers demonstrate their keen eye for comfort and versatility.  Brace yourself for the ultra-softness of the airy fabrics being welcomed to stores; elaborate concoctions of cotton blends, silk, rayon, and other eco-chic innovations of recycled cotton fibers.

Spring 2011 is monumental, as it radiates the groundbreaking 70’s era influence, while each designer confidently stamps their own distinguishing factor onto each collection.  The free-spirited, hippie-inspired lines offer a completely new take on the glamorous decade that moved fashion in a new direction.

“Bohemian chic” takes on an even stronger meaning, as it is explored further this season with longer, flowing skirts, high-waisted pants, wide-leg pants, circular sunglasses, skinny belts, wide-brim hats, bright and vivid colors, color blocking and fearlessly printed fabrics.

It’s all about assimilating old with the new.  Look through your closet, peruse racks of vintage stores.  Spring 2011 encourages fashion confidence; it’s time to make a fashion statement, and this season’s collections make it quite easy.
