The William Matthew Byrn, Jr. Judicial Clerkship Institute at Pepperdine University School of Law engages students throughout the country. Through the institute, students who have federal judicial clerkship positions are trained by federal judges.
According the law school's website, the institute has trained law students from over 130 different law schools representing clerkships for more than 320 judges. Here, the institute has become a prolific resource for promoting the adminsitration of justice in federal courts.
It looks like the Tenth Annual Wm. Matthew Byrne, Jr. Judicial Clerkship Institute event will be held March 18-20, 2010. To get a taste, there is a video available related to the Ninth Annual Institute, which covers the Confirmation Process for Supreme Court Nominations.
William Matthey Byrn, Jr. (1930-2006) was a federal judge of the United States District Court for the Central District of California. He was nomited to this seat by President Richard M. Nixon in 1971 and is known for, among many other things, presiding over the trial of Pentagon Papers.
