The League of Legends Championship Series is giving Esports fans a chance to follow pro-LoL teams closer than ever before. For those looking to catch a weekly game or two in season 3 it will be nice to get to know the teams that you’re watching. Here’s a spotlight on one of the teams we’ll be seeing during the series.
TEAM SOLO MID
Background:
One of the oldest Esports teams for “League of Legends” in North America Team Solo Mid was created in 2009 by brothers Andy “Reginald” Dinh and Dan “Dan Dinh” Dinh. The team got its start on the website solomid.net that provided community content for competitive video games.
When Season 1 for “League of Legends” got started in 2011 a formal pro LoL team was created. The original competitive roster was; Saintvicious, FeedFest, Chaox, TheOddOne, and Locodoco, however TSM has seen a lot of roster changes before and after they arrived on the pro scene.
TSM is perhaps one of the most charismatic, professional Esports teams starting with their community access that allows players to see champion builds and game play strategies approved or created by members of the organization. The team finished third in the season 1 championship and made it into the playoffs for the world championship in season 2 earning them a spot in season 3’s championship series.
Roster:
ID Name Role
Reginald Andy Dinh AP
Chaox Shan Huang AD
TheOddOne Brian Wyllie Jungle

Dyrus Marcus Hill Top
Dan Dinh Dan Dinh Sub
Fun Facts:
-Dyrus, the team’s top laner has created his own personal mascot. A pillow that he holds in his lap while playing and is often decorated with signatures and drawings from fans or teammates etc. The pillow was originally purchased at a big box store on a whim to make himself more comfortable during a team meeting.
-Team members Chaox and TheOddOne are Canadian Citizens while the rest of the team are American citizens.
-Former team member The Rain Man now plays for Epik Gamer while Locodoco plays for Korean team MiG Frost, and Saintvicious is jungling for CLG. The roster changes have made for a drama filled history for TSM with some team members leaving on less amicable terms than others.
-TSM briefly had two sister teams. First Epik gamer's roster was acquired then a second team was formed called Team SoloMid Evo under the SoloMid.net organization TSM Evo was active during season 2 but both teams have now since disbanded.
-Dan Dinh and Reginald are brothers that originally played on a team called All or Nothing. The team then disbanded due to a conflict between the two over play style. Dan Dinh has since jumped around between Epik Gamer, 4Nothing, and casting positions. When Epik Gamer didn't qualify for season 3 the team disbanded and Dan joined his brother’s team as a sub.
