One of the likeable members of the "Victorious" cast is Leon Thomas III (Andre Harris) the very talented musician, songwriter, singer and best friends forever to "Tori" (Victoria Justice). Many of the "Victorious" cast members have appeared in plays and other television show, but Thomas may possibly be the most experienced cast member and he is quickly becoming more popular and not just for his character.
Thomas was first on Nickelodeon Jr. as the voice of "Tyrone" in cartoon show "The Backyardigans," imaginative play time in the backyard of best friends that always ended just in time for a snack. Thomas has also appeared on "True Jackson," "The Naked Brothers Band," 'iCarly," and now as a regular cast member on "Victorious."
He has also performed in Broadway, making his first Broadway experience at the age of 10 as "Simba" in "The Lion King" (1994). Other broadway performances include; the part of Jackie Thibodeaux in "Caroline, or Change," and the musical version of Alice Walker's The Color Purple (1985).
His most recent accomplishments include the "Nickelodeon's Worldwide Day of Play," TeenNick Halo Awards and an appearance at Kids Day at the Super Bowl at Indiana Convention Center (NFLX) on February 1, 2012 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
What can you expect to see from Andre in the future on "Victorious?" Leon shared in an interview with MTV:
"This season, just in general, I feel like we've come into our own as a cast, we've just gotten so comfortable with each other," Thomas said. "It's a whole new level of comedy. It's a little more random this season; we all love it. It kind of reminds us of the old-school Nick with 'All That' and 'The Amanda Show,' where reality was kind of suspended for a second and we got the chance to be the goofy people we truly are."
Look for Andre to perform a brand new, original song on the Feb. 18th episode of Victorious "Andre's Horrible Girl." In this episode Andre may be having a no, good, horrible, very bad girlfriend but his reasons for dating her may not be all the innocent either.
When asked if this original song may lead to an album Leon shares:
"I'm really hoping to have something out soon." Thomas revealed. "It's just really all about timing and making sure we have the right records. I've been in the studio working really hard making sure my sound is right, I want to come ready to compete with some of the greatest artists out right now like Bruno Mars, Adele, B.O.B. I want to be able to contend with the "now," really hit the pop charts proper."
What do you think? Can he be a "contender?" Watch and listen to this video and let me know what you think.
