Lindy Leiser is a west-coast-to-east-coast stylesetter who has worked for fashion design companies  Reem Acra, YSL, Tory Burch, and now Bonobos menswear.  This driven production and logistics associate first studied apparel manufacturing management at FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising) in Los Angeles before making the move to NYC to work for Reem Acra, a bridal and eveningwear company.  Read below on her life in the fashion industry, then watch a short video on her interview of Katie Behnke, a t-shirt designer from the heartland of Dubuque, Iowa, in this article.

On the job:  I work with the factories who produce [Bonobos'] products to make sure they're being made correctly and on time, also that we have enough fabric and trims to cover the order.  I also work with our freight forwarder to make sure all shipments are happening on time and are cost sensitive.

Life in The Big Apple:  I always get inspired by being in the midst of fashion week twice a year, there is great street style here too.  I also like to go to iconic stores in NYC such as Jeffrey, Bergdorf Goodman, Kirna Zabete, to be reminded why I love this industry so much, where the rubber really meets the road, in retail.  I also get inspired by the ornate architecture here in the city mixed with the grit and grime.  I think that mix of extreme luxury and extreme dirtiness is what really makes NYC a unique city.

Standout moments working with a fashion icon:  My OMG moment would be when they called me to tell me I got the job with Yves Saint Laurent to be a Wholesale Sales Assitant.  It was great to work that product up close and personal.  I also get a few omg moments whenever I'm amidst fashion week in the tents, I get a rush of excitement.

On the fast-paced fashion industry:  I never want to be so stressed out that I don't think about other people's feelings, so I pray alot for God to give me strength when I'm feeling tired and stressed.  You have to really know who you are and where you stand and not let others define that for you, then you won't worry about what others are doing and if they're being cutthroat.
