Bob Barner, San Francisco resident and 2004 San Francisco Library Laureate, may be one of the most well-known authors among the elementary-aged readers of his books. Between writing and illustrating award-winning children's books and having some of those books turned into short films, this author enjoys visiting schools and libraries to share his love of books with children and adults. Residents of Humboldt County will get the opportunity to meet this author in October when he is one of the twenty-five authors that will take part in the Humboldt County Author Festival.

Bob Barner has written and illustrated over 25 children's books which include such favorites as Dem Bones, Bug Safari, Penguins, Penguins, Everywhere!, and Walk the Dog. Like many children's authors, Bob Barner has a colorful and interactive website for fans of his books. He also has a page dedicated to Fun Stuff where readers can play games, do puzzles, buy art from the pages of his books, and see which of his books are available in foreign languages.
Bob Barner will be visiting three schools while in Humboldt County; Laurel Tree, Pine Hill, and Greenpoint. He will also be on hand at the Humboldt County Main Library in Eureka on Saturday, October 22, 2011 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to sign books and meet with fans.
