Spotlight on Arkansas performer Hanna Reynolds

As reported here, an elite group of young performers from the Central Arkansas Performing Arts Academy (CAPAA) in Cabot will entertain at the Walt Disney World Resort and Universal Studios in Florida during spring break.

This profile is of Hanna Reynolds, 10, a student at Cabot Middle School North.

Q: How did you get interested in performing arts?

A: I became interested in performing arts when CAPAA invited me to be little Cosette in their production of a concert tribute to Les Miserables.

Q: What was your first role?

A: I began performing in church productions at the age of five by playing Mary.

Q: What other roles have you played?

A: The other roles I’ve had include JoJo in Seussical the Musical Jr., a member of the ensemble in Yes,Virginia and In the Heights, and currently a mersister and a chef in Little Mermaid.

Q: What roles do you hope to play in the future?

A: The roles I hope to have in the future are Anna in Frozen or Elphaba in Wicked.

Q: If you had to choose one--acting, singing, or dancing--which would it be and why?

A: I would chose singing because there are so many different emotions you can express through song.

Q: What is the best part about performing arts?

A: The best thing about performing arts is that you get to make a whole new family.

Q: What is a favorite memory you have of performing arts?

A: My best memory in performing arts has to be being with my friends.

Q: What advice do you have for those interested in performing arts?

A: My advice for anyone interested in performing arts would be you can’t stay in your comfort zone for any role you hope to have.

Q: What song would sum up your life?

A: If I were to sum up my life with one song title, it would have to be "Let It Go" because my goal is to always be true to myself and let go of what people expect of me and just be me!
