Sports Illustrated's Swimsuit Issue 2011 cover girl is Irina Shayk: Who is she?

The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue 2011 is set to hit newsstands this week, and Russian-born model Irina Shayk will be featured on the cover.  Filling out a pink and yellow swimsuit quite nicely on a sandy beach, Shayk learned she was the cover girl on Monday’s episode of the “Late Show with David Letterman.”

So who exactly is Irina Shayk?  She’s the girlfriend of soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo and hails from Yemanzhelinsk, Russia.  The Russian beauty has also been seen in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue since 2007.

With the swimsuit cover now a reality, Shayk joins the likes of Tyra Banks and Heidi Klum as women fortunate enough to be picked for the coveted Sports Illustrated issue.
