After adding Sports Illustrated model and Super Bowl “Insider Edition” correspondent to her resume, Miss Alabama Katherine Webb is sticking with the swimsuit theme and starring in a new ABC reality television show called “Celebrity Diving,” according to a Jan. 21 TMZ report.
According to RealityTVWorld.com, “Celebrity Diving will feature celebrities competing in a diving competition in front of a live audience. Each week, stars will perform dives, such as backflips and somersaults, from various heights that will increase in difficulty as the season progresses in the hopes of impressing a panel of judges and home viewers.”
The newly minted reality television fashionista will join cast mates including Detroit Lions’ Nadamukong Suh, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Nicole Eggert, Kendra Wilkinson, Louie Anderson, Drake Bell, E! Network’s Chuy and Keshia Knight Pulliam of “Cosby Show” fame.
The show is scheduled to premiere on Mar. 19. Akin to the network’s “Dancing With the Stars,” the participants will be trained by professionals before the series airs. Judges for the show include four-time Olympic gold medalist Greg Louganis, and David Boudia, who won the gold medal for diving at the 2012 London Olympic Games. The third judge has yet to be announced.
In addition to the reality show, Webb also hit the media jackpot and scored a Super Bowl gig. The beauty will cover Super Bowl for Inside edition. Webb said as much via Twitter on Jan. 14, tweeting, "So excited to be chosen to cover the Super Bowl XLVII for @InsideEdition in New Orleans!"
Webb is also appears in the iconic swimsuit issue of the Sports Illustrated magazine, slated to hit stands on Feb. 11. Webb confirmed this in an interview with Sports Illustrated magazine, during which she gushed about how incredibly grateful she is for this divine turn of events. "It's just so surprising to me. I don't know what God has planned, but obviously he's working on something," Webb told the magazine in a recent interview.
