Sports Authority, one of the largest sporting goods retailers in the United States, opened today its third store in Puerto Rico, located at Plaza Carolina; and yesterday, the sporting goods retailer opened its second location at Plaza Las Americas. Considering the chain made its entrance to the Puerto Rico market on October 2013, it is an aggressive beginning for a specialty goods retailer. Sports Authority expansion in Puerto Rico is part of a chain's goal to reach 500 stores.
With the new store openings, Sports Authority has provided over 300 jobs opportunities in Puerto Rico in just seven months, which is a good sign of business trust despite the Island's economic scenario.
Sports Authority features sports leading brands such as Adidas, Asics, Nike, Puma, among others. The product offering to the Puerto Rico market will meet the preferences and tastes of the local customer along with the sports Puerto Ricans practice the most. Also, the stores layout features a new concept called Intuitive, designed to provide Puerto Rico customers with the best shopping experience and service.
Tomorrow April 6, 2014, Puerto Rican tennis player Monica Puig (currently ranked 54th in WTA) will make an appearance to a "greet and meet" event at the Plaza Las Américas store from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
