The Utah Jazz (15-15) battle the San Antonio Spurs (22-9) on Monday, Feb. 20 at home at EnergySolutions Arena, 301 West South Temple in Salt Lake City. The Jazz fell to the Houston Rockets on Sunday 101-85 and put their season record at .500, 15-15. The Jazz are 12-5 at home, while the Spurs are 9-8 on the road. Tip-off is 7 p.m. Tickets are on sale now at Smith's Tix and at the EnergySolutions Arena box office.
Kingsbury Hall presents the Banff Mountain Film Festival starting Tuesday, Feb. 21 through Thursday, Feb. 23. The film festival features outdoor sports such as skiing, snowboarding, kayaking, hiking, mountain biking and more. Tickets are $9 for general admission seating and are available at the Kingsbury Hall website. Showtime is 7 p.m. all three days. Kingsbury Hall is located on the campus of the University of Utah at 1395 East Presidents Circle in Salt Lake City.
New film releases last Friday include "Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance," an action film based on the Marvel comics character, Johnny Blaze, a stunt cyclist who becomes a vigilante to battle the devil himself. Johnny Blaze/Ghost Rider, played by Nicolas Cage, is hiding out in Eastern Europe and is asked to protect a mother and her son who are being harassed by the devil, who is in the form of a human. The film also stars Ciaran Hinds and Idris Elba and is directed by Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor.
"This Means War" is a comedy starring Reese Witherspoon. Two spies, who are partners and best friends end up battling each other when they find out they are falling in love with the same woman. The film also stars Chris Pine and Tom Hardy. "This Means War" is directed by McG, who also directed the films "Charlie's Angels" and "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle."
