All responsible Spokane cat lovers the tired, old excuse, “I won’t neuter my male cat and make him miss out on the fun. I don’t want him to be a girly-man or a fatty-fatty two by four. Wrong. Feed him a good diet; get him a good cat tree and plenty of interesting toys to entertain him. Also, don’t be lazy. Give him the attention he deserves. He will miss out on fights, abscesses, roaming off too far and getting lost, spraying, and a short life...
Others want their little girl to have one litter of kittens, and then get her spayed. Well, that one litter often becomes two or three or four. These people don’t think ahead as to what to do with the kittens and the mother cat runs a higher risk of breast cancer, and uterine infections in the cat’s later years. Also, the female feline won’t have to go through going into heat.
In the long run, spaying and neutering your cat will save money. You will have less veterinary bills and the licensees are less expensive. Your cat will have a longer, fuller, and happier life. You are accountable for your cat. An altered cat has far less behavioral problems, will stick closer to home. He/she will just plain make a better companion,
It is very saddening to know how many cats are euthanized each day. You can help reduce these astronomical numbers. Every cat lover longs for the day when every cat will have a good home. This goal is not as unattainable as you think.
