Following the conclusion of episode 3 of “Once Upon A Time in Wonderland on Thursday, October 24, ABC aired the promo for episode 5, “The Serpent.” The tension levels look to be going up a bit as you can see in the accompanying video.
It is clear in the trailer that Alice and the handsome Knave have parted company and all indications are that Jafar has swept in and scooped him up. It appears the Knave’s life is in danger. It could be a plot to force Alice out into the open or to make her use one her wishes.
Will is seen struggling as the Red Queen listens to Jafar talk about the need for a public execution to warn others about the price for helping Alice. Shortly thereafter, the Knave is seen about to be beheaded.
Jafar is heard saying, probably to Alice, “I will keep destroying the people you love!” She appears to respond, “I will never put Cyrus at your Mercy!” Could it be Jafar is trying to force her to choose between the Knave and Cyrus?
According to the episode’s synopsis, Alice befriends a character called Lizard and through that relationship, we will learn more of the Knave’s past. Cyrus hatches a plan for his escape and the Red Queen is squirming when Jafar wants to kill the Knave because of her feeling for Will. Jafar’s own backstory will come to light in a flashback and viewers will finally learn what it is he really desires of Cyrus.
