Malcolm-Jamal Warner brought his two year relationship with Regina King to an abrupt end recently, asking the “Jerry Maguire” and “Southland” actress to move out.
Us Weekly reported on March 22 that Malcom-Jamal Warner "wasn’t feeling it anymore." An insider says that Regina King is "brokenhearted" following the split.
King and Warner had been friends since the 1980s when both were child stars, he on “The Cosby Show” and she on “227.” Malcom-Jamal, 42, has never been married and has no children. Regina King, also 42, was married to Ian Alexander, Sr. for a decade before their divorce in 2007.
The couple denied rumors of an engagement in early 2011. Both Warner and King were tight-lipped about their relationship, rarely opening up about the romance. Regina King once said, “I believe the universe has a plan, and we probably wouldn’t have been ready years ago. We both had to do what we had to do to be ready for each other now.”
Malcom-Jamal Warner told BET that he felt that the couple had to protect what they had because it was precious and very special. Warner also said, “It’s a relationship that makes all the sense in the world.”
An insider told Us Weekly that King is “still very brokenhearted” about the split from Malcom-Jamal Warner. Now Regina King will have to figure out why a relationship that made all the sense in the world in October 2011 left Warner “not feeling it anymore" in March 2013.
