Ubisoft announced Wednesday that the release of "Splinter Cell: Blacklist" for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC has been pushed back to August.
"Splinter Cell: Blacklist" was previously listed with a spring 2013 release date but a trailer released by Ubisoft today confirms that the new release date is a solid August 20, 2013.
Missing in the announcement is any mention of a Wii U version which seems odd given that Ubisoft provided the most support for Nintendo's new console of all the third-party publishers.
The latest adventure for Sam Fisher sees the elite agent taking charge of the newly formed Fourth Echelon to stop a terrorist plot involving "The Blacklist." The list represents an escalating series of attacks on the United States.
The new "Splinter Cell: Blacklist" trailer released by Ubisoft is titled "Inauguration Day" and features footage of Sam in action with images of recent presidential inaugurations spliced in.
