The year 2002 unveiled a gritty and crafty new secret agent onto the scenes. Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell showcased NSA’s best covert agent and dropped him into a world of stealth. NSA’s top secret sub division, the Third Echelon, pitted Sam Fisher against impending attacks, terrorists, and even his own morality.

Over the years six console games and one handheld ‘Splinter Cell’ games entertained on the small screen. Now the silver screen will be lit by the green glow of Sam Fisher’s goggles. Slated for an August 2015 release, stealth tactics will entertain fans of the games and movie goers alike.

The Dark Knight Rises’ villain and scene stealer, Tom Hardy will take the star role as Fisher. ‘The Bourne Identity’ and ‘Mr. and Mrs. Smith’ director, Doug Liman, will helm the action. Both Hardy and Liman will be perfect for the role.

Eric Warren Singer scribed the original draft of the script. Singer also has worked on ‘American Hustle’ and ‘The International’. Since the earlier drafts, the screenplay has been rewritten by Sheldon Turner.

With a reworked script, a director set to capture the perfect craft of Sam Fisher, and the leading man in Tom Hardy as the stealthy agent, Splinter Cell is sure to ignite a new franchise for the future.
