Refurbishment is common at Walt Disney World in Florida and at the other Disney parks across the planet. Often rides close during the slower times of the year so that they can be repainted, repaired and improved upon. A ride can be closed for refurbishment for a few days or sometimes it will be closed for several months.
Splash Mountain is located in the Frontierland section of the Magic Kingdom. It is a log flume ride that features songs and characters from the 1946 Disney movie Song of the South. The most famous part of the ride is the five story drop at the end. Riders will get soaked! It is a FASTPASS attraction. Guests must be at least 40 inches tall in order to ride.
