South Florida is gearing up for one of the largest ocean extravaganzas to hit the East Coast. Coming next month, February 23 and 24, 2013, at the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, will be 'Ocean Adventure Expo' also known as "The Diving Event of the Year in Florida."
In a land where water sports are like second nature to those that reside here, this is the event that brings you everything you need to know in freediving, scuba diving, spearfishing, marine art, safety, photography, videography and even gives you an opportunity to participate in product demonstrations.
Close to 100 exhibitors will be on hand giving out information, advice and answering some of your most inquisitive questions. The most respected names in water adventure include Aqua Lung, C4 Spearguns, Divers Direct, Florida Freedivers, Jose Fernandez Photography, Scubaboard, South Florida Underwater Photography Society, Southeast Florida Coral Reef Initiative and Surf Expo along with so many more interesting vendors that will surely make it worth your while to stop by.
Captivating water enthusiasts will be Dr. Eugenie Clark known as Scientist/Author/Shark Lady. Stan Waterman, five-time Emmy-winning cinematographer and producer, will share some of his fascinating stories. Be entertained by shark wrangler, swamp explorer and sculptor, Manny Puig.
Freediving professionals, spearfishing experts and a fitness guru will all give you some educational tips that will be useful as you continue to pursue your underwater ocean hobby. Hear first-hand accounts from LTJG Leslie Brown, a MH-65C Dolphin Helicopter Pilot at USCG Air Station Miami who has performed water rescues, medevacs and law enforcement interdictions throughout South Florida and the Bahamas. Bring the kids to meet Cathy Sisco, author of marine life books for children.
Plenty of marine artists will mesmerize you with their works of art. The undersea world holds a massive treasure of ideas to spark much in the way of creativity.
