The online edition of the NY Daily News reported on August 17 its Editorial Board’s review meeting of Thursday, August 14 with the candidate Eliot Spitzer, who is running for NYC controller.
His math skills displayed that he could not keep his private funds separate from questionable use of campaign or other fund accounts, when it was reported online and in the media that he was a paying member of the Emperors Club VIP in March 2008.
His entanglement and his reckless law breaking forced him to resign from the governor’s office March 17, 2008.
The online NY Daily News reported that the lessons that ‘he claimed to have learned from humiliation of being revealed as a cheat and liar have not extended to accepting the obligation to play straight with the public’.
The NY Daily News Editorial Board noted that Spitzer made false statements in response to long-unanswered questions about the actions that put him at the ‘heart of a federal criminal investigation’, reports the online NY Daily News.
Consequently, the Editorial Board endorses Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer. They declared him as, ‘steady, serious, well-prepared public official with an unblemished record of accomplishment,’ according to the NY Daily News.
The Editorial Board continued comment with, ‘Spitzer, who hopes to waltz in on nerve and notoriety, makes Stringer the clear choice’.
The new Quinnipiac University poll found Spitzer leading at 56%, while Stringer was at a distant 37% according to Warren Todd Huston August 15 for the online Breitbart edition.
