Spirituality has gained momentum over the course of these past few years. With it comes many different ideals, practices and accessories. How wonderful for us as we journey towards our destination via alternate routes.
Opening up the September 2009 issue of "O" magazine, Oprah Winfrey's publication, it was brought to my attention that chocolate infused with the positive energy of meditating Buddhist monks can elevate moods and energies. Hmmm, chocolate - really! Oprah's staff conducted a double-blind test and the jury is still out on that one. In the same issue we are guided to many types of dieting regimes and their organizations. Spiritual diet plans suggested include Weigh Down Workshops [www.weighdown.com] and Kosher Diet Plan [www.kosherdietplan.com]. As a lifelong dieter, I can personally attest to the fact that when I dieted with conviction as opposed to convention, I lost more weight with less effort.
Meditation is one of the practices that many adhere to on a regular basis. Through breathing, postures and specific thought processes, a feeling of general well being can be achieved.
Reiki Meditation and Healing Circle is held every Wednesday evening from 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. at Nature's Emporium, 8041 W. Sample Road in Coral Springs. It is generally led by Reiki Masters Sandy and Frank Russo. A $3.00 donation is requested but not mandatory and it is recommended that one calls to confirm that the scheduled event is taking place (954) 755-2223. I had the opportunity to speak with Sandy. "Nature's Emporium is a sacred haven for those who are seeking the tools on their [spiritual] journey", she explained. Their store is packed with all sorts of these tools, specifically, the crystals. They are based upon a universal system of color, frequency and chakras. I personally attended several of the meditative healing circles and walked out ninety minutes later filled with inner peace.
According to some of the greatest sages of our time, Kabbalah is one of the most profound wisdoms that can change the course of the world. One of the accessories, or tools, that has drawn a great deal of attention is the 'red string'. Red, the lowest frequency on the color spectrum, protects with a little of the 'hair of the dog that bit you'. In other words, much like inoculating with the strain that caused the allergic reaction or virus, the red dyed wool builds up a positive energy to counter act negativity.
Whether you take the highway or the service road, you will arrive at the desired destination. Spirituality makes no judgement of the route you choose to take.
