Cooking can be one of the most creative and healing outlets for the human spirit and condition. Whether people are non-cooks, expereinced cooks or habitual cooks, all can benefit from spiritual based cooking. Today, it is natural for most people to have varying levels of intimidation toward cooking due to society and lack of daily structure. Those people who are most intimidated by cooking will be the ones who benefit the most by breaking down those barriers. As barriers against cooking come down other areas of life begin to break free as well. People who cook regularly and feel burnt out at time, ned to think more openly about the cooking experience. This will break the nmundane and bring joy and healing back to the cooking experience.
It's all about taking lives tothe next level of achievement, success and daily happiness. People can begin to break barriers in many area of their lives for continued wellness. Cooking is a first step toward physical, mental and spiritual healing. Eating more natural and less processed foods will get the body functioning better. People think more clearly when they have nutrients to thrive off of instead of chemicals. And having at least one meal at home in a relaxed setting with family or even by yourself, is infinitely good for the human spirit.
As we cook, much is brought to the hearth. Herbs, spices, oils, nuts, flour, grains, meats, poultry, fish, vegetables, wines adn whatever side ingredients the meal calls for at the time. Cooking creatively for spiritual wellness requires a whole other set of ingredients from human existence. Things like history, pain, memories, love, wisdom, hate, knowledge, grief, spirituality, connectedness to others, or disconnection from others. Once the food ingredients are combined with the human existence ingredients, the potentioal is greater for a phenomenal receipe. A whole new receiple for your life being the main possiblity.
This new life receiple is born once memories, thoughrts, feelings and laughter are attached to certain ingredients. Here are some practicle suggestions to begin to this healthy combination: For those who do not cook, a major barrier wil be broken by going to the grocer and buying a simple meal to cook like a chicken to roast or a vegetable, bean and rice meal if vegetarian. Walk yourself through this process mentally first and visualize yourself actually going to the store picking out the ingredients, bringing them home and using them. The most important point here is to give yourself permission to make mistakes and throw it away if needed. It's all okay. We learn through our failures how to be successul.
For regual and habitual cooks, begin to think of using different spices and ingredients to cook with. Start by tasting herbs and spices on your finger. This may not be as pleasant, but you will begin to visualize what other ingreidients go with particular herbs and spices. Challenge yourself to experiment with different combinations and think outside of the barriers set by already used receipes in print. Take note of the memories and feelings that surface as aresult of this new, fun activity. Combine all ingredients, and make a mental or journal note of all the changes happening within your life. As the emotions and memories begin to float to the surface, begin stirring them, when ready, strain and let them them go. Bring the finished ingredient to your plate, eat healthier, think clearer and allow your spirit to grow by being acknowledged. All this through a simple task like cooking.
