The peace sign is, hands down, my favorite symbol. I was born in 1957, just a little too late to truly be part of the Woodstock generation, but I was 12 during the Summer of Love, and old enough that the greeting 'peace and love' became my mantra; and I am a flower child, body and soul!
When I blow out the candles and make a wish, I wish for peace. Even though I understand that we come to planet Earth to have experiences to expedite our Spiritual growth, and that not all of the experiences we create for ourselves are aligned with peace, my soul longs for it. To live on a planet where there is peace on every continent, in every city and town, and in everyone’s heart and soul... that’s my dream; and as John Lennon wrote, “You may say I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one…”
My pal Cinnamon Crow, who is a Light Healer, Reiki & Cosmic Vibrational Master Teacher, and Indigo Child, is also an expert on Spiritual symbols. Synchronistically, as I started writing a series of columns about Spiritual symbols, Cinnamon finished a new set of meditation cards that focus on—you guessed it—Spiritual symbols. As soon as I found out about Cinnamon’s upcoming new deck (I AM Soul Symbols), I asked her to be my Spiritual symbol authority for future columns, and I am so happy to announce that she agreed. Since there is no better time than the present to get started, here are some interesting facts about the peace sign direct from Cinnamon to us:
- The peace sign has a long, ancient history; however, the symbol as we know it was created in 1958 by Gerald Holtom for the British nuclear disarmament movement.
- Until the 1900s, the majority of Christ Consciousness energy was anchored to Gaia through masters of various faiths, often isolated in monasteries and sacred sites located at strategic sites around the world. In preparation for the shifting of Mass Consciousness, many souls volunteered to incarnate as what was later to be called the ‘Flower Children' to increase the Christ energies on Earth.
- These souls successfully accomplished their Divine Group Mission (whether conscious of it or not) to activate the Christ Consciousness Grid and spread the peace message. This activation opened the tides of Christ Consciousness or Peace, Love and Oneness energies.
- Hippies and Flower Children worldwide adopted the peace sign as a beacon of harmony and unity. As the mark of a generation, this symbol is infused with the energies and Highest Intent of this Divine Soul Group. This means the peace sign is charged with Christ energies. By mediating on the peace symbol you can reconnect and realign with Christ Consciousness.
Before I turn this column back over to Sherri, I’d like to share the following about peace and the peace symbol: We are one. When any individual vibrates at the frequency of peace a portion of the Mass Conscious is at peace too. To see a peace sign is a signal to find a place of quiet to rest and restore the soul. Remember, peace comes from within. Fill your inner well so peace, love and oneness may flow freely.
Thank you, Cinnamon! It’s clear that peace symbol is a high-vibration symbol and one that is worth our time and energy during meditation. I have decided that in the same way that I now see folks bumping fists, I am going to start flashing the peace sign again! And I will end this column the way my Guides end every single one of our automatic writing sessions: Go in Peace.

About Cinnamon Crow: Here’s a quote from Cinnamon that I love: “Anything I can do, you can do as well (and probably with less resistance).” Cinnamon is all about helping us open up to our inner power, and to that end, she has created three types of spiritual tools: The Chakra Zodiac Healing Oracle; Teen Oracle (for kids as well as beginners to metaphysics); and the soon to be released I AM Soul Symbols. Cinnamon is a Reiki & Cosmic Vibrational Master Teacher, Light Healer, Indigo Child, and a forerunner in leading edge (and accessible to all) healing techniques that match the higher vibrations of our shifting planet.
