This Halloween children in NYC area hospitals are in for a treat, all thanks to the efforts of Spirit of Children, a philanthropic program of Spirit Halloween, the largest seasonal Halloween retailer in North America which has brought the festivities of the season (arts, crafts, costumes and more!) to pediatric patients at partnering hospitals since 2006.
Hospitals such as Children of Bellevue at Bellevue Hospital, Maimonides Infants & Children’s Hospital of Brooklyn, and St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children have benefited from vital funds raised through the Spirit of Children program.
To date, Spirit of Children has raised more than $240,000, for all hospitals mentioned, which has funded a variety of resources for the hospitals including music and art therapy programs, aid in purchasing games and toys for patients, and assistance in funding additional services such as playrooms, so kids can leave their room and spend time with their peers. Spirit of Children’s goal is to raise $5 million in 2013 bringing its total contribution to more than $16 million.
You can help them reach this goal by donating to the program through visiting a local Spirit Halloween store location or visiting www.SpiritOfChildren.com.
