Just before we rang in the New Year, we announced a contest giving away a pair of tickets aboard Spirit Cruises. The decision to choose a worthy winner with the best resolution was not easy, but simple and effective always seems to work best for everyone, with that being said, the lucky recipient is Frances Ayon!
Frances wrote to me and wants to lose ten pounds and cut back on snacking. With Fashion Week less than a month away and a catwalk gearing up with gorgeous chiseled bods, she was the obvious choice! Also, after witnessing the amazing Jean Paul Gaultier exhibit with beautiful works of art on display, this only made sense! Congratulations, Frances and Bon Voyage and thanks to our friends at Spirit Cruises for this buoyant giveaway! For tickets or more information, please visit: http://www.spiritofnewyork.com
The Jean Paul Gaultier exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum: The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gaultier: From Sidewalk to the Catwalk, was extremely inspirational. This multimedia exhibition was heavily influenced by the streets of Paris, Madonna and haute couture as well as pret-a-porter ensembles.
With a variety of photographs, sketches, creepy (yet transfixing) talking mannequins, the Jean Paul Gaultier exhibit was fun, fabulous and everything in between! Lots of avant-garde designs as well as visual statements about sexuality, gender and music.
To purchase tickets: on-site sales end at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday and 9:00 p.m on Thursday for members-only viewing are held every Saturday in January 11:00 a.m.-12 p.m. The show closes on February 23rd.
