Having been under renovations for three years, the Spire Center for Performing Arts, 25 ½ Court Street in Plymouth, Massachusetts, will come alive with a two month celebration of exciting concerts, performances, and much more starting Saturday, April 5!
Supported by the Greater Plymouth Performing Arts Center, the highly-anticipated Gala Grand Opening Events series will kick off with a free Community Open House on Saturday, April 5 at 11 a.m. Take a tour of the new Spire Center for Performing Arts, learn about becoming a member, and find out more about upcoming entertainment at the Spire.
Some of the two-month highlights include a ‘Gala Variety Show’ and ribbon cutting ceremony, featuring the Bay Colony Shakespeare Company, comedy acts, singer-songwriter Mark Whittaker, Plymouth Community Theatre, Johnny Souza Trio, the Deep Creek Band, and more on Friday, April 11.
On Saturday, April 12, soak in the sounds of ‘The Sea the Sea,' a folk-pop duo that blends acoustic guitars, ukulele, banjo, piano, and percussion with the soothing harmonies of singer-songwriters Chuck E. Costa and Mira Stanley at 8 p.m. Their debut CD is called ‘Love We Are We Love.’
Other Gala Grand Opening Events series highlights include a performance by indie pop singer-songwriter Hayley Sabella to celebrate her new CD, 'Farm Fingers' on Friday, April 18 and the Spire’s premiere of the Plymouth Rock Assurance Jazz Festival, hosted by Johnny Souza on Sunday, May 25 at 2:30 p.m.
